Pakistan, UK agree to further strengthen bilateral cooperation

The two leaders conducted a detailed review of Pakistan-UK bilateral relations and agreed to further enhance cooperation across various sectors.

(Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper on the sidelines of a United Nations Security Council meeting.

During the meeting, Dar thanked the British foreign secretary for convening an important session on Palestine. According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the two leaders conducted a detailed review of Pakistan-UK bilateral relations and agreed to further enhance cooperation across various sectors.

Both sides emphasised the importance of promoting people-to-people contacts and maintaining high-level engagements. They also agreed to continue effective coordination at the United Nations platform.

Separately, Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

The Foreign Office said the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, matters of mutual interest, and exchanged views on regional and global developments. The Board of Peace meeting in Washington also came under discussion.

The two foreign ministers agreed to remain in close contact on all issues of mutual interest.
