Swat and other cities feel 5.6 magnitude earthquake from Hindu Kush

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake with 73 km depth shakes Swat, Nowshera, Kohat, Haripur, and surrounding areas; epicenter located in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush mountains.

SWAT (Dunya News) - Residents of Swat and surrounding cities reported tremors as a 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the region.

According to the Seismic Center, the quake had an underground depth of 73 kilometers. Tremors were also felt in Nowshera, Kohat, Haripur, Bunir, Chitral, Charsadda, Malakand, Hangu, and nearby areas, prompting residents to leave homes while reciting prayers.

The Seismic Center confirmed that the earthquake’s epicenter was in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan. No immediate reports of casualties or damages have been received.
