BAJAUR (Dunya News) – A suicide bomber involved in the February 16, 2026 attack at the Malangi Post in Bajaur has been identified as an Afghan national named Ahmad, also known as Qari Abdullah Abu Zar.

He was a resident of Afghanistan’s Balkh province and reportedly a former member of the Taliban’s Special Forces.

The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 11 security personnel and two innocent civilians. This incident further exposed the growing involvement of Afghan nationals in terrorist activities within Pakistan, pointing to the Afghan Taliban regime's active support and facilitation of such elements.

On February 6, 2026, a suicide bomber, who conducted attack in Tarlai area of Islamabad, had received training in Afghanistan. Additionally, terrorist groups behind the November 2025 attacks in Islamabad and Peshawar also had ties to Afghanistan.

The terrorists involved in attack on Islamabad judicial complex in October 2025 and FC Headquarters in Peshawar in November 2025 were also Afghan nationals.

Futhermore, the captured suicide bomber from South Waziristan in October 2025, identified as Nematullah, hailed from Afghanistan’s Kandahar province.

Experts believe the Afghan Taliban’s continued backing of terrorist organizations is clear proof that these groups are finding safe havens within Afghan territory.

According to sources, more than 70% of terrorism-related incidents in Pakistan in recent years involve Afghan nationals.
