ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to the federal government and relevant authorities regarding the permanency of 43 officers and employees of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency and the Federal Investigation Agency.
The order came after a petition was filed by the officers challenging their contractual status. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan presided over the hearing and directed the federal government, FIA, NCCIA, the Federal Public Service Commission, and the Federal Ministry of Law to submit their comments in court.
Copies of these responses must also be shared with the petitioners.
The petitioners’ counsel requested that the court prevent termination orders and ensure that salaries and other benefits continue until a final decision on the petition is issued.
They also sought a halt on declaring posts vacant and filling them on ad-hoc bases.

Additionally, the petition asked the court to direct NCCIA and FIA to send the service records of the petitioners to FPSC and require FPSC to follow legal rules for regularization and promotion of these officers.
The petition stated that the officers were initially appointed following proper advertisements, tests, interviews, and other legal requirements, and later deputed from FIA to NCCIA.
The court noted that the issues raised by the petitioners are worth consideration and issued notices to the concerned parties.
The case has been scheduled for further hearing.
