LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has granted permission to the traders to continue their businesses beyond 10pm during Ramazan, against its earlier order for closing shops at 10pm.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz accepted the request of the business community and granted exemption from the 10pm closing hours of shops during Ramazan.
The 10pm closing hours of shops were abolished. The chief minister gave formal approval and a notification was also issued.
Instructions have been given to commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province, including other departments, that business activities will continue 24 hours a day during Ramazan.
Meanwhile, the Power Division has issued SOPs for all electricity companies, including K-Electric, and it has been decided not to conduct loadshedding during Sehri and Iftari even in areas with high losses.
The Federal Minister directed all the DISCOs to immediately resolve the complaints of electricity consumers. It was decided to adjust load management to loadshedding times other than Sehri and Iftar.
Similarly, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) also announced an uninterrupted gas supply during Sehri and Iftar to facilitate consumers.
The decision has been taken to ensure that households face no difficulty in preparing meals at critical times of fasting, an official statement said.
The statement said that the gas supply for Sehri will be made available from 3am, while a continuous supply during Iftari will also be maintained.
