FM Ishaq Dar to attend UN Security Council meeting on Palestine in New York

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will attend UN Security Council talks on Palestine, stressing ceasefire, humanitarian aid, self-determination, and establishment of independent Palestinian state

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will visit New York starting tomorrow to participate in a high-level United Nations Security Council meeting on the situation in Palestine.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan has reiterated its strong opposition to Israel’s illegal decisions regarding the West Bank and emphasized the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, along with full implementation of UN Resolution 2803.

The spokesperson added that Pakistan called for increased humanitarian aid for Gaza and the rapid initiation of reconstruction efforts. Pakistan also reaffirmed its full support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

Further, Pakistan urged the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. During the visit, Ishaq Dar will also hold bilateral meetings to discuss issues of mutual interest.
