ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A Turkish newspaper, Daily Sabah, has highlighted Pakistan’s rapid and decisive response to recent terrorist attacks, saying it prevented militants from turning terrorism into a strategic victory.
The article noted that Pakistan’s resilience and stability were tested by two major terrorist incidents, in Islamabad and Balochistan. Swift and comprehensive countermeasures ensured that terrorism failed to achieve its strategic objectives.
According to Daily Sabah, the Islamabad mosque attack and coordinated attacks in Balochistan aimed to spread fear, incite sectarian unrest, and weaken public trust in the state. The terrorists’ strategy focused not on territorial gains but on undermining public confidence and projecting state weakness.
The report highlighted Pakistan’s counterterrorism capabilities: following the Islamabad suicide attack, security forces neutralized 145 terrorists within approximately 40 hours. During the week-long Radd-ul-Fitna operation in Balochistan, 216 BLA militants were killed. Despite these attacks, state control remained intact, strategic losses were avoided, and the terrorists’ objectives were thwarted.
Daily Sabah emphasized that modern terrorism is fought on two fronts: armed attacks and psychological-propaganda warfare. Pakistan successfully countered both, maintaining public trust and exposing the separatist narrative targeting civilians, women, and children.
The article also supported Pakistan’s stance that the BLA and Majid Brigade are internationally recognized terrorist organizations. It warned that cross-border support and modern weaponry, including billions of dollars of arms abandoned in Afghanistan, pose significant threats—an issue Pakistan has highlighted globally.
According to Daily Sabah, Pakistan’s successful strategy involves denying terrorists physical, financial, and psychological space. Modern defense aims not only to stop attacks but also to prevent shocks from gaining momentum.
