LAHORE (Dunya) - Former judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and former chief justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan, has passed away, according to family and official sources.
His funeral prayers will be offered today (February 17) after Maghrib prayers at Dongi Ground, Garden Town in Lahore. The funeral procession will depart from his residence in New Garden Town at 5:30pm.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the former Supreme Court judge, extending condolences to the bereaved family.
In his condolence message, the prime minister said Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan was among the country’s senior and experienced judges, known for his dedication, integrity and lifelong service to justice and rule of law.
He also prayed for the departed soul’s elevated ranks in the hereafter and strength for the family to bear the loss.
