COLOMBO (Dunya News) – Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has ordered immediate removal of all difficulties faced by Pakistanis in obtaining visas.
The order was issued when Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain held a meeting with the Sri Lanka president.
During the meeting, President Dissanayake appreciated Pakistan's support to his country during difficult times.
The interior minister also informed the Sri Lankan president about the difficulties faced by Pakistanis in obtaining visas.
The Sri Lankan president took immediate notice and ordered the removal of Pakistan from all lists. He also announced that Sri Lanka’s prime minister would soon visit Pakistan. He also reiterated his commitment to further strengthening relations with Pakistan.
President Dissanayake extended his gratitude to Pakistan for hosting the T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and India in Colombo. During the discussions, they focused on key topics such as counter-terrorism efforts, anti-narcotics initiatives, and joint military training programs.
Mohsin Naqvi commended the Sri Lankan President for his efforts in strengthening the relationship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Additionally, he conveyed an invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the Sri Lankan President to visit Pakistan.
Naqvi also expressed his appreciation for the exceptional hospitality and arrangements provided to the Pakistani delegation during the T20 World Cup.
