LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore Airport Security Forces (ASF) intercepted a passenger attempting to smuggle a large quantity of gold on Sunday.
The passenger, identified as Shehzad Ahmed, was travelling to Dubai when security personnel discovered 18 gold bars hidden in his socks.
The total weight of the smuggled gold exceeded 2 kilograms. Authorities immediately confiscated the items and handed Shehzad Ahmed over to Customs officials.
Customs authorities confirmed that the gold has been seized and further legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused for attempting to smuggle the precious metal.
ASF and Customs officials stressed their continued vigilance to prevent smuggling and protect national revenue.
No further details about the passenger’s motive or any accomplices have been disclosed, and investigations are ongoing.
