LAHORE (Web Desk) - Punjab has launched the Pak ID app to facilitate biometric verification for vehicle owners, making the process of registration, transfer, and purchase easier and more accessible.
With the introduction of the app, vehicle owners will no longer need to visit government offices repeatedly for verification. Pakistanis living both inside the country and abroad can now complete biometric authentication from home.
Officials said that after successful verification, vehicle ownership transfer will become more transparent through online payment of dues using e-pay and other digital services.
The Pak ID app was formally inaugurated by the Director General of Excise and Taxation from his office on Monday.
The DG Excise and Taxation stated that the app will simplify ownership transfer for over 26 million vehicles in Punjab. Once ownership verification and fee payment are completed, the transfer process will be finalized within 48 hours.
