PM Shehbaz invites Austrian business community to invest in Pakistan

Pakistan-EU Business Forum will be held in Islamabad this April, aiming to strengthen trade and investment ties with European partners.

VIENNA (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday addressed Austria’s business community in Vienna, extending an invitation to invest in multiple sectors across Pakistan.

Speaking at a major business forum, he emphasised the longstanding friendly relations between the two nations, praising Austria’s contributions to renewable energy and mining cooperation.

Sharif noted that Pakistan’s population is predominantly young, with 60 percent under 30, and highlighted government initiatives to advance IT education and skills development, alongside collaborative efforts with provincial governments.

He also discussed joint work with European partners on issues of undocumented migration, and underlined Pakistan’s reliance on agriculture, stressing efforts to boost technology adoption, per-acre productivity, and value addition in the sector, welcoming Austrian collaboration.

The prime minister encouraged investment in mining, natural resources, renewable energy, engineering, and other high-potential sectors, framing Austria-Pakistan economic partnership as an opportunity to reach new heights.

PM Shehbaz further announced that the Pakistan-EU Business Forum will be held in Islamabad this April, aiming to strengthen trade and investment ties with European partners.
