ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — Specialist doctors have begun conducting an eye examination of former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail under strict security arrangements, officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to jail authorities, a medical team comprising specialist doctors reached the prison facility along with required medical equipment to conduct the examination.
The medical assessment is being carried out under the supervision of a medical board, and a detailed report is expected to be prepared after completion of the check-up.
Reports indicate that medical specialists were scheduled to examine the former premier at the jail following growing concerns regarding his eye condition.

Recent developments also showed increased focus on his medical care, with equipment and specialist teams sent to the jail for examination and treatment arrangements.
The examination is part of broader arrangements for a complete medical evaluation, with authorities expected to decide further treatment steps based on the medical board’s findings.
CRVO diagnosis
This update comes two weeks after reports revealed that the PTI founder, who has been in jail since August 2023, was diagnosed with a serious eye condition called central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO).
CRVO is an eye disorder that primarily affects older adults and is often associated with cardiovascular risk factors, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and heart disease.
Following the news, the PTI and his family expressed deep concern over Imran’s health and called for him to be transferred to a hospital for proper treatment.
