SIALKOT (Dunya Newws) - The inaugural National Chief of Army Staff Wrestling Championship 2026 concluded successfully in Sialkot, featuring competitions in the Under-17 and Under-19 categories for the first time at the national level.
Gujranwala’s team, Sher Punjab, emerged as the overall champions, while Peshawar’s Khyber Fighters secured second place. The event saw enthusiastic participation from district, divisional, and provincial level champions, attracting a large crowd at the Sialkot Sports Stadium.
The ceremony included medal and prize distribution by the General Officer Commanding, who praised the athletes for their skill, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Players expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Army for organizing the championship and promoting youth talent, noting that the inclusion of Under-17 and Under-19 categories marks a significant step forward for sports development in the country.
Athletes also emphasized the importance of providing international exposure to emerging talent and hailed the Pakistan Army’s efforts as a clear commitment to nurturing sports and youth development.
