LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested 26 terrorists during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across multiple cities over the past month amid rising terrorism concerns.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the operations were carried out in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Narowal, Pakpattan, and Sargodha.
Among the arrests, CTD recovered explosives, including 3 EIDs, 19 detonators, 34 feet of fuse wire, pamphlets, cash, and Prima cards.
Terrorists arrested from Lahore belonged to Al-Qaeda, while four dangerous militants from Fitna al-Khawarij were captured in Sargodha.
The arrested individuals have been identified by names including Irfan, Zaman Ali, Mujahid Ali, Faisal, Shiraz, Nematullah, Osama, Ghulam Yaseen, Yasir, and Imran.

Over the past month, CTD conducted 286 IBO operations, 4,662 combing operations, and interrogated 160,009 people, arresting 538 suspects overall.
Officials said these terrorists planned attacks to spread fear among the public.
The CTD spokesperson emphasized that the department remains committed to eradicating terrorism from the country and protecting citizens.
