Botox-treated camels disqualified from beauty contest in Oman

Updated on:

Dozens of camels were disqualified from an Oman beauty contest after owners used botox and artificial cosmetic procedures, which are strictly banned in such competitions.

MUSCAT (Web Desk) - Beauty-enhancing procedures are no longer limited to humans, as even camels are now being subjected to cosmetic treatments such as botox injections. Dozens of camels were recently disqualified from a beauty contest for this reason.

In the past, the desire to look attractive was often associated mainly with women, but changing times have seen both men and women undergoing botox and other cosmetic procedures to enhance their appearance.

However, this trend has now extended beyond humans. In Arab and Gulf regions, camels are considered symbols of prestige and pride, and camel beauty contests are held regularly.

Recently, during a camel beauty competition held in Oman, dozens of camels were barred from participating after it was discovered that their owners had administered botox injections to artificially enhance their appearance.

According to Arab media, around 20 camels were disqualified from the annual contest for undergoing artificial cosmetic procedures.

Authorities have imposed strict bans on the use of such methods to make camels appear more attractive. Similar disqualifications have also occurred in Saudi Arabia in past camel beauty contests.
