ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The State Bank of Pakistan reported that remittances from overseas Pakistanis totaled $3.5 billion in January 2026, recording a 15.4% year-on-year increase.
From July 2025 to January 2026, remittances reached $23.2 billion, up 11.3% compared to $20.9 billion during the same period last year.
Key sources of inflows in January included Saudi Arabia ($739.6 million), UAE ($694.2 million), the UK ($572.1 million), and the USA ($294.7 million).
Economists say strong remittances provide a lifeline to Pakistan’s economy, supporting households and improving foreign exchange reserves.
