ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, during a press conference, criticized the events of February 8, calling them a denial of voters’ mandate and pledging that the party would not let the matter be forgotten.
Raja emphasized that strikes are a major political strategy, explaining that such actions do not necessarily require violent confrontation.
“This is about resistance and awareness,” he said. “People cannot forget by simply flying kites; the day will come when millions will rise together.”
He also expressed continued concern over the health of PTI founder Imran Khan but acknowledged a positive development as the Supreme Court has permitted Barrister Salman Safdar to meet him.
Raja stated that Salman Safdar is scheduled to meet Khan at 2:00 PM today, marking a day for family and legal representatives to visit the PTI founder in Adiala Jail.
Salman Akram Raja thanked everyone who supported the strike on February 8, highlighting that the youth remain the hope for a new beginning.
“Our struggle continues,” he said. “Walking these streets is our right; kite flying is just a temporary distraction, a one-day affair.”
The PTI leadership reiterated that their political struggle and mobilization will persist, aiming to engage public participation and raise awareness about their cause.
