DUBAI (Web Desk) - The International Cricket Council avoided an estimated $174 million loss after confirming the Pakistan versus India match in the T20 World Cup, according to Indian media reports.

The potential losses were linked to broadcast revenues, gate money, and sponsorship deals.

Following the decision, a sharp rise was recorded in airfares for Mumbai and Colombo, with ticket prices increasing by PKR 10,000 to 60,000. Colombo’s hotel industry also welcomed the development, anticipating a boost in bookings due to the high-profile clash.

Govt allows Pakistan team to play T20 World Cup match against India on Feb 15

Reports said that after earlier boycott calls, some fans contacted hotels to cancel reservations, while others sought information about refund policies for match tickets.

The government of Pakistan on Monday allowed its national cricket team to play against India in the T20 World Cup 2026, with the match scheduled to take place on February 15.
