Updated on:

A Lahore court ordered the release of five accused in the Bhati Gate tragedy case after a compromise, as the complainant withdrew further legal action.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A local court in Lahore has ordered the release of five arrested suspects in the Bhatti Gate tragedy case, where a mother and daughter died after falling into an uncovered manhole.

The district court approved bail applications of the accused on the basis of a compromise between the parties.

The complainant told the court that they no longer wished to pursue the case and had no objection to the suspects’ acquittal or discharge.

Judicial Magistrate Shafqat Abbas heard the case.

Bhatti Gate police had registered the case earlier.

The accused include Salman Yaseen, Usman Yaseen, Ahmed Nawaz, and two others. The court’s decision brings the matter to a close, at least for now.
