ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan has revealed the updated rates for Zakat al-Fitr and Fidyah for Ramadan 2026.
Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, the Chairman of the Council, announced that the minimum amount for both Fitrana and Fidyah for this year has been fixed at Rs300 per person.
The amount for Fitrana and Fidyah varies based on the type of food items. The rate for barley has been set at Rs1,100, while for dates, it will be Rs1,600. The rate for raisins is Rs3,800, and for dried figs (Maniqah), it will be Rs5,400.
For wheat, the Fidyah for fasting 30 days will be Rs9,000, while for barley, the total amount comes to Rs33,000.
The Fidyah for dates will amount to Rs48,000, for raisins Rs114,000, and for dried figs (Maniqah), it will be Rs162,000.
In the case of government-supplied flour, the Fidyah for 30 days of fasting has been set at Rs.6,000, and for individual Zakat al-Fitr or Fidyah using government flour, the amount will be Rs200 per person.
Dr. Naeemi further stressed that Zakat al-Fitr is a mandatory charity for all Muslims, regardless of age or gender.
Additionally, if a person deliberately breaks a fast, the required compensation is either to fast for 60 consecutive days or to provide two meals a day for 60 needy individuals.
