DUBAI (Dunya News) – Dubai is set to launch a driverless taxi service across the city from March, the announcement was made by Crown Prince and Executive Council Chairman Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The service will deploy autonomous taxis powered by advanced technology on various city roads for both trial and operational purposes. Officials say the initiative aims to make urban transport safer, faster, and more eco-friendly.
Experts note that driverless technology is becoming a critical part of future urban mobility, helping reduce traffic congestion, optimize fuel usage, and lower accident rates.
Authorities stated that Dubai continues to introduce innovative smart transport projects, with autonomous vehicles expected to become a routine part of city travel in the coming years, making daily commutes easier and safer.
