LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali on Saturday rejected Information Minister Atta Tarar's remarks as ‘irresponsible’ and demanded apology immediately.
The minister at a press conference in Lahore on Saturday alleged that the PTI was behind the recent wave of terrorism in the country.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali termed the accusation reckless and divisive at a time of national mourning.
The minister gave the remarks at a press conference in Lahore alongside religious scholars, aiming to express solidarity and national unity after Friday’s suicide attack at an Islamabad mosque.

Referring indirectly to ex-premier Imran Khan’s plan to settle fighters from the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in civilian areas, Tarar said the same thinking was behind the current surge in violence.
"People are grieving, funerals are being held, and the nation needs unity at this time. Now is the time to condemn terrorism together. Statements like this only divide the country,” he said, adding, "PTI condemns all acts of violence and stands with the nation."
Earlier, Attaullah Tarar said that 170 injured persons are being provided all possible medical facilities and reiterated that the families of the martyrs would not be left alone.
Responding to questions, he said terrorists are breathing their last and no longer have access to hard targets, which is why they are targeting soft targets in remote areas.
