PDMA Punjab issues rain and snowfall alert for February 8-10

PDMA Punjab warns of rain, snowfall, and hail in upper, southern, and central districts from February 8-10. Citizens and tourists advised to stay alert.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – PDMA Punjab has issued a weather alert, warning of rain and snowfall in the province from February 8 to 10.

According to PDMA, upper regions of Punjab are expected to experience rain and snowfall, while most districts may also see rainfall during this period.

The alert forecasts snow and rain in Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas on February 9 and 10.

In Lahore, dense clouds and rainfall are expected between February 9 and 10. Southern districts of Punjab may experience rain along with hail during the same period.

Other districts likely to receive rainfall include Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khushab, Jhang, Noorpur Thal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, and Sialkot.

PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said alerts have been issued to local government, health department, Rescue 1122, police, and transport authorities.

He added that following Punjab Chief Minister’s instructions, all arrangements should be completed in advance, and emergency control room staff must remain on 24-hour alert.

Irfan Ali Kathia further stated that Rescue 1122 disaster response teams will remain on high alert and advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather.

He also urged tourists in Murree to take precautions and follow official instructions to prevent any unfortunate incidents.
