The withdrawal comes only days after Peshawar Zalmi named Gurbaz as their direct signing ahead of the PSL player auction scheduled for February 11. The franchise confirmed the signing on February 5 through official social media platforms, though the financial details were not disclosed.
Gurbaz has been an important member of Afghanistan’s national side since making his international debut in 2019, featuring in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He has also played in several major franchise leagues worldwide, including the IPL, BPL, CPL, SA20 and ILT20.
In the PSL, he has appeared in three seasons, representing Multan Sultans and Islamabad United. Across 15 matches, he has scored 318 runs with one half-century.
Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi have retained key players ahead of the PSL 11 auction, including Babar Azam in the Platinum category for Rs70 million.
The 11th edition of the PSL is scheduled to begin on March 26 and conclude on May 3.
