Field Marshal Asim Munir visits Muzaffarabad, pays tribute to Kashmiri martyrs

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Muzaffarabad, honoured Kashmiri martyrs, and pledged support for freedom and frontline troops.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), visited Muzaffarabad today to pay homage to the martyrs of the Kashmir freedom struggle.

The visit included a wreath-laying ceremony at the Jammu and Kashmir Martyrs Monument, where the top military commander offered tributes to the Shuhada of the Kashmir movement, honouring their enduring legacy of valour and selfless sacrifice.

Interacting with veterans and local notables, Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). He highlighted that despite continuous human rights violations, Hindutva-driven atrocities, and systemic oppression, the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people remain resilient. General Asim stressed that the region would witness the dawn of freedom in line with the will and destiny of its people, according to the military’s media wing.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to raising the Kashmir issue at all relevant international forums, emphasising solidarity with Kashmiri brothers and sisters until a just resolution is achieved according to United Nations Security Council resolutions. He acknowledged the high morale, professional excellence, and dedication of officers and soldiers deployed in Kashmir, recognising their operational challenges and steadfastness in safeguarding the region.

The visit included an inspection of a forward post, where Field Marshal Asim Munir engaged with troops stationed on the frontlines. He highlighted the importance of maintaining peak operational readiness, vigilance, and coordination across all domains to counter any hostile action effectively. He underscored that any act of aggression would be met with a swift and decisive response, reaffirming the Armed Forces’ preparedness to address both conventional and hybrid threats in a dynamic security environment.

Upon arrival, the top general was received by the Commander Rawalpindi Corps, marking the beginning of a visit that combined homage, strategic engagement, and operational assessment.
