LAHORE – The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather forecast for Basant celebrations in Punjab, particularly in Lahore.
According to the PDMA, pleasant weather is expected in Lahore and surrounding areas during Basant. The forecast further states that from February 6 to 8, the weather in Lahore is likely to remain dry, with partly cloudy skies.
During the Basant days, temperatures in the city are expected to range between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the PDMA said that rain is expected in northern areas, while snowfall is forecast in mountainous regions during this period. Due to rain and snowfall, an increase in cold intensity is likely in upper areas, and citizens have been advised to remain cautious.
The PDMA has also urged the public to adopt precautionary measures during Basant, advising special care while kite flying, particularly around electric wires and rooftops.
The advisory clearly states that the use of metallic string, chemical-coated string, and illegal materials should be strictly avoided, while motorcyclists must ensure the use of safety helmets and neck protection covers.
