ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): More than 38.9 million children have been vaccinated during the first three days of Pakistan’s first nationwide polio eradication campaign of 2026, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).
The NEOC said the national polio drive is continuing successfully across the country on its fourth day. The campaign is being conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan to effectively prevent cross-border transmission of the poliovirus.
Provincial data shows that over 21 million children have received polio drops in Punjab, while more than 8.61 million children have been vaccinated in Sindh. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over 6.22 million children have been administered polio vaccines.
Similarly, approximately 1.8 million children have been vaccinated in Balochistan. In the federal capital Islamabad, more than 421,000 children have received polio drops, while over 246,000 children have been vaccinated in Gilgit-Baltistan. In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, more than 647,000 children have been immunised.
The National EOC has urged parents to fully cooperate with polio teams to help achieve the goal of making Pakistan polio-free.
