ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of full cooperation in securing its legitimate financial claims under the National Finance Commission (NFC) and other relevant frameworks, while stressing transparency and adherence to established procedures.
The assurance was given during a meeting at the Ministry of Finance with the chief minister’s adviser on finance, Muzammil Aslam. Senior officials from both the federal government and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration also attended the discussions.
Officials exchanged views on financial and development matters, including the timely release of funds for development projects in the merged districts, outstanding liabilities related to the rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons, and provincial shares and allocations under the NFC.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delegation highlighted the importance of predictable and timely funding to ensure the smooth continuation of development schemes and meet administrative needs in the merged areas.
The finance minister reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to cooperation, consultation and strong federal-provincial coordination to address the province’s concerns.
