SIALKOT (Dunya News) - Sialkot Stallions, the newly formed franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), have signed Australian cricket star Steve Smith directly for the upcoming eleventh edition.
Sources revealed that Smith opted for Sialkot after considering their better offer and management setup.
Notably, Smith recently delivered an excellent performance in the Big Bash League (BBL), further boosting his value to the team.
It is recalled that the Stallions have appointed former Australian captain Tim Paine as the team's head coach.
While discussing the team's composition and future plans, owner Hamza Majeed emphasized that, instead of relying on foreign mentors, the franchise intends to focus on local cricket legends.
He highlighted the close relationship he shares with icons like Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi, calling them "big brothers" and recognizing their invaluable contribution to Pakistan's cricketing legacy.
Majeed further stated that PSL has played a pivotal role in reviving cricket in the country and enhancing its economic representation.
