Petrol likely to get cheaper, diesel prices expected to increase from Feb 1

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Petroleum products prices in Pakistan are expected to rise starting February 1 with petrol prices likely to drop.

Preliminary estimates suggest that petrol could become cheaper by Rs 0.36 per litre, whereas high-speed diesel (HSD) may rise by up to Rs 9.47 per litre.

The sources also projected that kerosene oil may increase by Rs 3.69 per litre and light diesel by Rs 6.95 per litre.

According to industry insiders, the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is expected to submit its recommendations to the Petroleum Division on January 30. The Ministry of Finance, in consultation with the Prime Minister, will make the final decision on petroleum product prices.
