LAHORE (Dunya News) - The dispute over the date of the Lahore High Court Bar elections has been resolved during a meeting of the office-bearers of rival lawyers groups on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.
The annual elections of the Lahore High Court Bar will be held on February 28, after matters were settled between office-bearers of the Professional Group and the Independent Group.
Lawyers have unanimously decided that the Lahore High Court Bar elections will be conducted under a biometric system. Lawyers from both the Independent Group and the Professional Group participated in the meeting.
Complete consensus was reached on the election schedule. The meeting was presided over by President Lahore High Court Bar Malik Asif Ali Naswana.
Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council Pir Masood Chishti, Member Pakistan Bar Council Ishtiaq A. Khan, Shafqat Mahmood Chauhan, and other office-bearers were also present at the meeting.
