KARACHI (Dunya News): Shocking revelations have come to light regarding corruption in the solar panel project in Sindh. Significant progress has been made in a NAB investigation into alleged corruption exceeding Rs3 billion in a project to provide 200,000 solar panels to low-income individuals in Sindh.
Corruption of more than Rs3 billion was previously revealed in the Sindh Energy Department’s solar panel project, prompting NAB to launch an investigation. In this regard, the Chief Minister of Sindh, following NAB’s notice, has approved the provision of records and details to NAB.
According to NAB sources, the company that secured the contract allegedly committed corruption worth millions of rupees by falsifying documents. The project is being funded through a $100 million loan from the World Bank.
Sources further stated that, in collusion with project staff, the contractor did not supply the required number of solar units; however, the paperwork falsely showed the project as completed.
