Former cricketer's son arrested on rape charges in Lahore

Police arrested the son of a former cricketer in Lahore after a domestic worker accused him of rape at a farmhouse, following swift action on her complaint.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – A domestic worker has lodged an FIR accusing the son of a former renowned leg-spinner of sexual assault, following which police arrested the suspect.

According to an FIR registered at Burki Police Station, Salman Qadir, a resident of the Burki area, allegedly took the domestic worker to his farmhouse and sexually assaulted her.

The complainant told police that Salman Qadir called her to work earlier than usual. She reached the main gate of a private housing society, from where the accused picked her up in a car and took her to his farmhouse, where he allegedly raped her.

Police said the victim submitted an application for registration of the case at Burki Police Station, upon which an FIR was promptly registered.

According to police officials, SHO Burki Imran Nawaz took immediate action on the SP Cantt’s directives following a call to emergency helpline 15.

SP Cantt Akhlaqullah Tarrar confirmed that the accused, Salman Qadir, has been arrested. He stated that the 21-year-old domestic worker was lured to the farmhouse under the pretext of work and subjected to sexual assault.

He added that a case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of the victim, and assured that those involved in sexual exploitation of women will be brought to justice.
