Membership of 41 Punjab MPs restored; nine still suspended

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The membership of 41 Punjab Assembly members has been restored, while the nine members who failed to submit their asset declarations remained suspended.

According to sources, due to the suspension of their membership, the nine members will not be able to participate in today’s session of the Punjab Assembly.

Of 50 members of the Punjab Assembly, 41 have submitted declarations of their assets.

The Punjab Assembly Secretariat has provided the list of suspended members to the security staff to ensure full compliance with rules and regulations during the session.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) suspended the memberships of 159 members of national and provincial assemblies who failed to submit their asset declarations and financial statements.

Those suspended include 32 members of the National Assembly, 50 members of the Punjab Assembly, 33 of the Sindh Assembly, 28 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, seven of the Balochistan Assembly, and nine senators.
