Punjab government removes Mayo Hospital CEO over medicine and staff shortages, appoints Prof Dr Shoaib Nabi as new chief following media reports highlighting hospital issues.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has replaced the Chief Executive Officer of Mayo Hospital over shortages of medicines, doctors, and other administrative issues.

Professor Dr Muhammad Haroon Hamid has been removed from his post and directed to relinquish charge immediately. He has been instructed to report to the Specialized Healthcare Department.

Professor Dr Muhammad Shoaib Nabi has been posted as the new Chief Executive of Mayo Hospital.

He was previously associated with Services Hospital. The Specialized Healthcare Department has issued a formal notification and directed immediate implementation of the administrative change under government orders.

It is noteworthy that Lahore and Dunya News had highlighted the issues faced by Mayo Hospital, prompting action by the Punjab government.
