Six killed in suicide blast at wedding ceremony in DI Khan, Governor seeks report

DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) - The death toll from a suicide bombing at a wedding ceremony in Dera Ismail Khan has risen to six, prompting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to seek a detailed report into the incident.

The explosion occurred late last night near Qureshi Mor during a wedding event at the residence of Noor Hassan Mehsud, president of the South Waziristan Contractors Union. At least 10 others were injured in the blast.

The governor contacted senior officials following the incident and directed them to conduct a thorough investigation and submit a comprehensive report at the earliest. He expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives and instructed authorities to ensure immediate and best possible medical treatment for the injured.

Sources said the injured were rushed to the DHQ Hospital, where several remain under treatment. Police have collected evidence from the scene and expanded the scope of the investigation, while statements of the injured are also being recorded.

Among those killed in the suicide attack was Advocate Abdul Majeed Lagari Mehsud. Other victims were identified as Waheed Jagri, Rehmanullah, Shehzad, Inayatullah, and a minor, Waheed.
