KARACHI (Dunya News) - Gold and silver prices surged to historic highs in both international and local markets on Friday.
In the global bullion market, gold price jumped sharply by $91 per ounce, reaching a new peak of $4,923 per ounce. The strong upward trend in international markets also had a direct impact on domestic prices.
Following the global increase, the price of gold in the local market rose Rs9,100 per tola, reaching an all-time high of Rs514,662 per tola. Similarly, the price of 10 grams gold climbed by Rs7,802 to settle at Rs441,239.
Silver prices also witnessed a notable rise. The price of silver per tola increased by Rs372, reaching a new record level of Rs10,275 per tola.
Meanwhile, the price of silver per 10 grams rose by Rs319 to Rs8,809.
Market analysts attribute the sharp rise in precious metal prices to growing global economic uncertainty and increased investor demand for safe-haven assets.
