LAHORE (Dunya News) – The CEO of KIPS College, Abid Wazir Khan, was abducted on Thursday while leaving his office in the Johar Town area of Lahore.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Khan was intercepted en route and taken by unknown assailants while he was on the phone with the college’s female general manager.
The FIR notes that during the call, the woman heard a male voice accusing Khan of damaging the man’s vehicle in an accident. Police have registered a case at the Johar Town Police Station, with initial reports suggesting the incident could be linked to ransom, though authorities have not confirmed this.
Lahore’s DIG Operations Faisal Kamran told Dunya News that there has been no contact or ransom demand received so far. “This is not currently being treated as a ransom case. Our investigation is ongoing, and police teams are operating in multiple districts,” Kamran said.
He added that the Lahore police are collaborating with the city’s CCTV network to track movements and gather evidence. Teams are working both inside Lahore and in neighbouring districts to follow all possible leads.
Kamran also emphasised that sharing details about the investigation or Khan’s location could jeopardise ongoing efforts. Authorities have reviewed the CEO’s last phone conversation and are following up on all relevant angles.
DIG Operations confirmed that teams have been active since last night, with some focusing on Lahore and others on surrounding areas. Police are coordinating closely with local and regional authorities to expedite the process of locating Khan.
