Pakistan may boycott T20 World Cup 2026

Updated on:

Pakistan may boycott the ICC T20 World Cup if Bangladesh withdraws after ICC denies their request to play outside India; senior players favor participation, decision expected today.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan may consider boycotting the ICC T20 World Cup if Bangladesh decides not to participate, according to sources.

The decision from Bangladesh regarding their participation is expected today (Thursday) , with several senior players reportedly in favour of taking part in the tournament.

The Bangladesh government is also set to consult with the players before taking the decision.

Recently, the ICC officially rejected Bangladesh’s request to play their matches outside India, stating that if they wish to participate in the World Cup, all games must be played in host nation India. Pakistan had assured Bangladesh of its full support regarding the matter.

Cricket websites suggest that if Bangladesh refuses to travel to India, the ICC may consider inviting another team in their place. The situation continues to be closely monitored as the tournament approaches.
