Russia claims it shot down 75 Ukrainian drones overnight, with debris injuring 13 people, damaging buildings and vehicles, and prompting evacuations and emergency measures in several regions.

MOSCOW (Shahid Ghuman) - Russia’s Ministry of Defence has claimed that its air defence systems destroyed 75 Ukrainian drones between on January 20 and 21 across several regions, including the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

According to the ministry, 45 drones were intercepted over the Krasnodar region, nine over Oryol, seven over the Black Sea, three each over Rostov and Crimea, two each over Astrakhan, Bryansk and Kursk, and one each over Voronezh and the Sea of Azov.

In Adygea’s Takhtamukai district, a drone crashed into a residential high-rise, injuring 13 people, including two children. Authorities said none of the injuries were life-threatening. Two of the wounded were shifted to Krasnodar for treatment, while a local emergency was declared. Residents of the damaged building were relocated to temporary shelters.

Preliminary reports said 15 vehicles were destroyed in a parking area, while 25 others were damaged. Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a probe into the incident.

In Oryol, Governor Andrey Klychkov reported damage to fuel, energy and residential infrastructure, with temporary disruptions to electricity and water supply, later restored. No casualties were reported.

In Krasnodar’s Afipsky town, residents were evacuated after drone debris and a warhead were found, with demining operations underway. Emergency services and law enforcement agencies continue operations across affected areas.
