LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has written a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) in support of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s decision not to travel to India for the T20 World Cup 2026.
Pakistan has formally endorsed Bangladesh’s stance in the letter, backing its refusal to play World Cup matches in India amid security concerns. The PCB also shared copies of the letter with ICC board members, prompting the ICC to convene a board meeting later today to discuss the issue.
Reports said the matter of Bangladesh’s decision not to travel to India will be taken up during the ICC board meeting. However, the ICC is unlikely to change the venues of Bangladesh’s scheduled matches. In this regard, the PCB has proposed that Bangladesh’s World Cup matches be hosted in Pakistan.
The PCB has also suggested that the ICC reconsider Bangladesh’s participation in the World Cup in light of the ongoing situation.
Bangladesh has decided not to travel to India for the World Cup citing security concerns and has maintained its position during discussions with the ICC.
