WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – US President Donald Trump has once again mentioned stopping the Pakistan-India war and the shooting down of eight Indian aircraft during the conflict.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday while marking the one‑year anniversary of his return to the White House, he said that millions of people could have died in the war.

Had the conflict not been stopped, 10 to 20 million people would have been killed, Trump said and added that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told him, “You have saved millions of lives.”

President Trump said that he was trying to bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war. He claimed that the United Nations has not helped in stopping any war.

Regarding his much vaunted Board of Peace, he said he did not intend to make it an alternative to the United Nations; the UN should be allowed to continue its work.

The US president said that the situation in Iran was being closely monitored. Regarding Greenland, he said he would do something that would make both NATO and the United States happy.

President Trump also announced that he would not attend the 52nd G7 Summit scheduled to be held on June 15-17 in France.
