LAHORE (Dunya News) – The risk of monkeypox has intensified in Punjab after four new cases were confirmed in the provincial capital within the last 24 hours, raising concerns among health authorities.
According to the Health Department, the spread of the virus continues, with fresh patients identified in Lahore. CEO of Mayo Hospital, Professor Haroon Hamid, said all four cases have been officially confirmed and the patients are currently receiving treatment.
He identified the patients as 30-year-old Sultana Aram and 25-year-old Hamza, who tested positive for monkeypox. Lab results also confirmed the virus in 33-year-old Nauman and 18-year-old Unas.
Hospital officials said all patients are being provided full medical care at Mayo Hospital. Professor Hamid added that their condition is stable and they are out of danger.
Health authorities have urged the public to stay alert, follow safety guidelines and report any symptoms without delay.
