OGDCL discovers oild and gas reserves in KP

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Large-scale new oil and gas reserves have been discovered in Pakistan.

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange through an official letter about the discovery of oil and gas reserves in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the letter, daily production of 3,100 barrels of oil has been discovered from the X-1 well in the Bargzai Field in Kohat, while new gas reserves of 8.15 million cubic feet per day have been found from a well in the Nashpa Block.

The Bargzai X-1 well was drilled to a depth of 5,170 meters on December 30, 2024, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 3,010 pounds per square inch.

The letter further stated that drilling operations at the Nashpa Field were successfully completed using an advanced drilling system. Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Government Holdings (Private) Limited, and GHPL are the working partners in the Nashpa Block.
