LAHORE (Dunya News) – Under Punjab’s first government-run project for providing quality and affordable goods through home delivery, free doorstep delivery is currently being offered from 46 Sasta (Facilitation) Bazaars in 35 cities across the province.
Under the project, more than 312,000 orders have been successfully delivered to households. Through the Punjab Sasta Bazaar Authority’s free home delivery initiative, 13 essential food items are being provided to the public.
For this service, prices of the 13 basic food items have been fixed even lower than the DC-notified rates. Citizens are receiving these essentials at prices up to 7 percent lower than official DC rates under the home delivery project.
The facility to place orders is available through the free home delivery app on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Riders of the Punjab Sasta Bazaar Authority deliver orders door to door. By using the app, citizens can save up to 7 percent on prices, while delivery remains completely free.
Items available for order through the free home delivery service include potatoes, onions, tomatoes, pumpkin, garlic, apples, bananas, dates, lemons, guava, and watermelon. Pulses (chickpeas), gram flour, wheat flour, and sugar can also be ordered through the Sasta Bazaar home delivery system.
Through the CM Free Home Delivery Project, citizens have collectively saved Rs 110 million while shopping from home. Members of the public say that the provision of affordable and quality food items at their doorstep is unprecedented.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that the government will not allow the effects of inflation to reach the public at any cost. She added that expanding the free home delivery project to other cities of Punjab will be done in phases.
