State's doors open for those who lay down arms: Sarfraz Bugti

Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Sarfraz Bugti stated that the nefarious designs of terrorists in Kharan had been thwarted.

QUETTA (Dunya News) - Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday said that state’s doors are open for those who lay down arms in Balochistan, but the action would be taken against those who are bent upon killing and destruction, Dunya News reported.

Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Sarfraz Bugti stated that the nefarious designs of terrorists in Kharan had been thwarted. He said that terrorists are now focusing on robbing the banks, and due to the timely action of security forces, four terrorists were killed on the spot while eight more terrorists were killed with the help of local intelligence, thus, a total of 12 terrorists were killed.

He informed that Colonel Wadan and Major Asim were injured during the operation. The terrorists had entered Kharan to loot the money of the Baloch people. He said that a civilian was injured in the incident and was immediately shifted to the hospital by the security forces and is receiving free treatment.

He raised the question of which ideology is it in the name of which ordinary Baloch people are being terrorized, while the terrorists themselves were turning to banks to rob the money of ordinary Baloch people.

He said that the people of Balochistan are grateful to the sacrifices of the security forces and martyrs, who rendered their lives for the protection of the homeland and the people.

The Chief Minister clarified that the response mechanism is now in front of the people, whenever terrorists take action, they would be given a strict response and the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that in the year 2025, 900 hardcore terrorists were killed during intelligence-based operations (IBO), while effective fight against terrorism is ongoing through technical and human intelligence.

He said that since August 2025, the rate of terrorism has significantly decreased and no national highway in Balochistan has been closed even for seven minutes.

The Chief Minister said that appointments in his government are being made on 100 percent merit, transparent recruitments have also been made in the Balochistan Constabulary, while governance, development and security are being taken forward together.
