ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted cloudy weather with chances of rain and light snowfall is expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during next 24 hours, while cold and dry conditions across most parts of the country
According to the Met Office, moderate to dense fog is likely to persist over Punjab, upper Sindh and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly during morning and night hours, which may disrupt road and air traffic.
Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to experience partly cloudy and cold weather, with patches of fog likely during the morning hours.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cold and dry weather is forecast for most districts. However, cloudy conditions with rain and light snowfall are expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Battagram, Abbottabad, Kohistan and Mansehra and nearby areas. Moderate to dense fog is likely to persist in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan, especially during morning and night.
Punjab is expected to remain largely cold and dry, while the Potohar region may experience partly cloudy conditions. Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas are likely to see very cold and cloudy weather with chances of light rain and light snowfall during the morning hours. Dense fog is expected to persist over a wide belt including Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Cold and dry weather is likely to prevail over most districts of Sindh. Moderate to dense fog is expected in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Tando Jam, Mohenjodaro and coastal areas, including Karachi, during the morning hours.
Balochistan is also expected to experience mainly cold and dry weather, while northern districts may remain very cold and partly cloudy. Fog may develop in Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Dera Murad Jamali, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, Sibi and the coastal areas of Makran during morning hours.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, very cold and partly cloudy weather is expected, with chances of rain and light snowfall at isolated places.
