LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Punjab School Education Department has issued a notification announcing revised working hours for government schools across the province.
According to the notification, the new timings will be effective from January 19 to April 15, 2026. For single-shift schools, students will attend classes from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, classes will run from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
In double-shift schools, the morning shift will operate from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, while the afternoon shift will run from 2:15 pm to 4:45 pm.

The notification also extends teachers’ working hours from Monday to Thursday to include preparation, training, and professional development activities. Teachers have been directed to actively participate in CPD, training, and curriculum-related tasks.
Attendance of teachers will be mandatory on alternate Saturdays, and CEOs Education have been instructed to ensure strict implementation of the new schedule.
The Punjab government has also allowed a 15-minute adjustment in timings for boys’ and girls’ schools, giving administrations some breathing space.
Officials said the revised timings aim to keep things running smoothly during the season and ensure that everyone stays on the same page.
