MOSCOW (Shahid Ghuman) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the global situation is deteriorating and called for stronger cooperation between countries.
He spoke at a ceremony in Moscow where new ambassadors presented their credentials on Friday.
He reiterated Russia’s stance that the global security framework must be rebuilt on new foundations, and that Russia’s proposals on this issue require renewed, serious discussion. He criticised the rise of unilateral, power-driven actions worldwide and stressed that diplomacy, dialogue, and compromise are being sidelined.
“Some countries are trying to dictate how others should live, what decisions to make, and which direction to take,” he said, emphasizing the need for stronger global enforcement of international law to ensure a fairer, multipolar world.
The president reaffirmed that Russia seeks open, mutually beneficial relations with all countries and remains committed to balancing national interests with global trends. He highlighted the central role of the United Nations, saying the UN Charter is more important today than ever.
Regarding Ukraine, Putin said the crisis stems from the repeated disregard of Russia’s legitimate security concerns and NATO’s expansion toward Russian borders. While Russia desires lasting peace, he noted that readiness for compromise is not yet present in Kyiv and its allies.
Putin also mentioned Russian solidarity with Cuba, support for increased cooperation with Afghanistan, and hopes for restoring ties with South Korea. He stressed that peace must be established quickly but vowed that Russia would remain steadfast in achieving its objectives.
